- WHAT'S NEW IN MASK PRO 2.0?
- ================================
- Here's a summary of the new features you'll find in Mask Pro 2.0:
-
- New Entry Points:
- Mask Pro 2.0 now has several different entry points, all of which produce different results,
- all of which can be found under the Extensis menu as well as the following Photoshop menus:
-
- 1) Filter->Extensis->Mask Pro (drops out the Background similar to version 1.0)
- 2) Filter->Extensis->Mask Pro Composite (same as above, but you can view all
- viewable Photoshop layers while masking)
- 3) Filter->Extensis->EdgeBlender (Quickly remove unwanted background colors from mask
- edge pixels without modifying the opacity of those pixels)
- 4) Select->Extensis->Mask Pro Select (will return a selection)
- 5) Select->Extensis->Make Work Path (will create a vector based path from either a mask or a selection)
-
- IntelliBrush/IntelliWand:
- Pick up the Magic Brush or Magic Wand, click on an area without choosing
- Keep and Drop colors. The background just goes away. The Threshold setting
- can be adjusted via the keyboard (up/down arrows) while you drag.
-
- PrecisionEdge Pen:
- The new Magic Pen snaps to edges automatically and creates fully
- editable "magic" paths.
-
- PowerTools:
- Double-clicking on the Magic Brush, Brush, or Magic Fill Bucket applies
- the tool to the entire image.
-
- Global Choke:
- Tighten the mask globally by percentages of a pixel.
-
- Revert:
- Choose Revert from the File menu (or press F12) to quickly
- revert back to your original image.
-
- Three Mask Modes:
- When using the Magic Brush, you can opt to Erase only, Restore only, or do both
- at once (Dual). The Dual option is also available for the Magic Fill Bucket,
- to clean up holes and specks with one stroke.
-
- Invert Mask:
- Choose Invert from the Edit menu to invert your mask.
-
- Reset Workspace:
- Choose Reset Workspace from the File menu to reset the palette locations, settings,
- and to remove all the Keep/Drop colors.
-
- User defined background mask color:
- Create your own background color for your masking preview.
-
- Entire stoke Undo/Redo:
- Undo an entire brush stroke by pressing Command/CTRL+Shift+Z. Redo the entire stroke
- with Command+Shift+Y (CTRL+Shift+Y).
-
- More Keyboard Commands:
- Commands for hiding showing palettes (F-keys), opacity (shift+#s), and View modes (#'s 1-5),
- as well as several other functions, most of them mimicking Photoshop 5.0 behavior.
-
- Quick Mask Mode:
- In the Selection Filter, you can work in Quick Mask Mode by clicking the red button along
- the bottom left of the work window.
-
- EdgeBlender:
- Quickly remove unwanted background colors from mask edge pixels. After creating your
- Mask in Mask Pro, choose Filter->Extensis->EdgeBlender.
-
- Clipping Path Proxy: Create a clipping path on any selection or channel, and view a
- proxy image showing how changing tolerance and choke changes the accuracy of the clipping path.
